CALL TO ARTISTS

Paz Y Flamenco: Art in the Public Interest is seeking interested local artists to engage in an exciting new project.

On July 25 th, 2009, at the Sutton Hotel Ballroom, renowned flamenco dancer Ramon Martinez of Spain is bringing his company to Edmonton for a gala fundraiser performance in support of Grandmothers to Grandmothers and the Stephen Lewis Foundation. As part of the fundraiser we are putting out a call to artists to donate visual works inspired by the world of flamenco to be auctioned off at the event with proceeds going directly to Grandmothers to Grandmothers and the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Works can be of any medium as long as they can be displayed at the event with minimal set up space.

To submit:

Send a brief description of the intended work by June 1 st (this is to ensure the promotion of your work in our marketing materials, press packages, and website)

Final deadline for all art donations: July 19th

Artists participating in this event will be eligible to participate in media opportunities connected to the event and will receive promotion of their work at the event and in press materials. Rachel Sentes, publicist for Paz Y Flamenco, is providing publicity for this event.

We are also seeking anyone who is interested in volunteering on the night of the event. Volunteers will receive free entry to the show as well as a souvenir Flamenco for Life shirt based on a design by Jane Ogilvie. If you think you’d be interested in helping out that evening, please drop me a line!
